Coordinator/Instructor - Industrial Maintenance Curricula Development (Workforce Development Center) Part-time

Overview:

The adjunct instructor will be responsible for developing, setting up, and delivering hands-on industrial maintenance training classes. Instructor will create curricula based on customer or certification requirements. Instructor will work with other WDC faculty to standardize course offerings, training methods, and knowledge outcome expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Act as lead adjunct instructor and teach selected industrial maintenance classes (lectures and labs).
• Develop class syllabi, outlines, lectures, and labs for classes as required.
• Meet with corporate customers to define training requirements.
  • Prepare training proposals
  • Develop curricula
  • Project manage training, delivery, instructors, and classroom space.
• Standardize curricula, textbook, and classroom/lab training methods for WDC course offerings.
• Coordinate industrial training lab equipment inventory, purchase, and maintenance requirements.
• Mentor new WDC instructors.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline
• Demonstrated mathematics knowledge to include trigonometry and coordinate geometry
• At lease five (5) years experience working in an electrical, mechanical, or mechatronics maintenance technician, maintenance, manager, or field service engineer
• Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: AC/DC circuitry, maintenance repairs, machining, blueprint or schematic interpretations, pneumatics, hydraulics, electro-mechanical equipment, PLCs,power transmission, and industrial sensors and controls
• Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated adult-learner teaching experience in an industrial or educational environment
• Advanced degree in a relevant discipline
• Project management experience
• Industrial maintenance certification

• Position duties vary by semester
• Contract position
• Daytime or evening work assignments

Report to: Director, Workforce Development Center

Compensation: $30-$40 per hour depending on experience

Classification: Non-Exempt

Status: Part-time, not to exceed 29 hours per week
