About the Role
We're looking for a data scientist to join our Core Services Data Science team to provide data expertise as we work to make this world a safer place to move around.
This will be a highly cross-functional role that will work closely with identity operations, engineering, product management, and partner data teams. You will build out and own key identity operations metrics, provide key insights, conduct deep dive analysis to understand new opportunities and present findings, and work with partners to build new policy and product solutions while measuring impact. You will play an influential role in helping drive critical product and policy decisions.

- Distill interesting and hard-to-find insights into a compelling, concise data story
- Communicate effectively and manage relationships with partners coming from both technical and non-technical backgrounds
- Solve complex business problems that cross multiple product/project areas and teams
- Balance attention to detail with swift execution
Basic Qualifications
- M.S. or Bachelors degree in Math, Economics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or other quantitative fields. (If M.S. degree, a minimum of 2+ years of industry experience required and if Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 3+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist or equivalent)
- Advanced SQL expertise
- Basic understanding of experimental design (such as A/B experiments) and statistical methods
- Ability and experience in extracting insights from data, and summarizing findings / takeaways
- Experience with Excel and some dashboarding / data visualization (i.e. Tableau, Mixpanel, Looker, or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of Python or R experience
- Experience with Hive, Spark, and other big data tools
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with product analytics and experimentation
- Background in data visualization and reporting leveraging open source libraries/packages and third-party tools
- Strong judgment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$140,000 per year - USD$156,000 per year.
