An employer is looking for a Corporate Buyer for a direct-hire opportunity in the Franklin, Ohio area. The client is an industrial equipment supplier, focused particularly in the heat exchanger space, and the Corporate Buyer will serve as the main Purchasing point of contact. This means the Corporate Buyer will cover purchasing for plates, gaskets, raw steel, etc. but also for general office and shop supplies as needed. They will communicate often with internal teams in inside/outside sales/project management/leadership, etc., along with 4 to 5 main external vendors, so exceptional communication is key. They will be supporting 5 main locations and communicating, maintaining relationships, negotiating and ultimately purchasing from vendors both onshore and offshore, particularly in China and France.

Required Skills & Experience

2-5 years' purchasing/buying experience, preferably in the heavy industrial space

International business experience/international logistics (particularly dealing with Asia contacts)

Account or relationship management

Negotiation skills

Proven strong and professional communication skills

Strong organizational skills

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Ability to speak Mandarin Chinese

SAP or similar ERP experience (Quickbooks, PeachTree, Sage, etc)

Experience working with vendors in China
