The Division of Adult Institutions is seeking to fill a Corrections Security Director position at Wisconsin Secure Program Facility located in Boscobel, WI

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the treatment, security, and general living conditions of all inmates assigned to the section. The Institution Security Director is an administrator responsible for all activities within their section and the development, implementation, and monitoring of overall security, goals, policies and procedures of the institution. The Security Director is responsible for the security program for all areas of the institution. Additionally, this position directs an institution and department-wide program designed to manage inmates in segregation and general population status.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule/range 81-02 with an annual salary of $83200 - $107848. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A two year career executive trial period is required.

Job Details

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures for a 24/7 operation
  • Supervising staff (e.g. hiring, training, assigning and directing work, performance evaluations, etc.)
  • Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team in a correctional setting
  • Directing, implementing, and evaluating security standards

In addition to the above, well qualified applicant will have experience:
  • Investigating staff and/or inmate misconduct allegations
