EL Bilingual Paraprofessional
Provide language interpretation services, including, but not limited to: translation of documents; and interpretation for parent meetings, phone calls, and supplemental classroom instruction. Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and develop activities. Be knowledgeable of daily and long-range plans. Conduct activities with individuals and small groups when requested. Assist in caring for and securing classroom equipment and supplies. Assist in duties related to assigned areas. Assist with classroom management. Assist with clerical work, projects and programs, special events, and field trips. Inform the teacher of the special needs of individual students. Assist newly arrived EL families with the registration process. Attend all required training meetings and workshops. 11Any and other essential functions assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
Successful completion of 48 semester hours from an institution of higher education that was appropriately accredited per the Alabama State Department of Education at the time the courses were taken or a passing score of 3 on the ACT WorkKeys Assessment, portions Math, Workplace Documents, and Business Writing. (This assessment is taken at the applicant's expense). Applicant must be fluent and literate in both English and a second language.
