What You'll Do:
The Ohio Attorney General's Office is currently seeking a motivated and hard-working individual for a Crime Victims
Claims Specialist position within the Crime Victim Services Section. This position will work a hybrid in-person/remote schedule. There may be changes to this schedule based on training and operational needs. The headquarter location is our Columbus Office. The successful candidate will perform a variety of clerical, administrative and support tasks for attorneys, investigators and other office staff. The duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
-Reviews and prepares new crime victims claims received from the court
-Creates and compiles folders with all preliminary documentation of injury for further investigation
-Reviews information to ensure timely filing
-Contacts claimant by phone to collect additional information
-Drafts letters requesting additional information based on information received from application and phone call
-Submits drafts to economic loss investigator for review and revision
-Produces and/or merges complex technical materials (e.g., legal documents, health record reports, tax comparison
charts, economic loss calculations and other financial records)
-Interprets material and produces typed copy from dictated, written copy, rough draft or confidential notes
-Performs other duties as assigned.

12 mos. trg. or 12 mos. exp. in use of personal computer & business office software & in working in office handling telephone calls & clerical work; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in English composition & grammar or business communication/correspondence; formal education in arithmetic that includes calculation of fractions & percentages & in alphabetizing, English grammar, punctuation & editing of common English vocabulary; typing skill of 50 words per minute.
