Job Summary and Qualifications

Obtains quality radiographs of patients within the department as well as with portable equipment in an acceptable timeframe.

Complies with radiation safety guidelines for patient and self. Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment. Operates radiographic equipment safely and competently.

Demonstrates the ability to perform all necessary computer operations (i.e. Meditech and PACS). Ensure proper charges are entered and referring physician’s orders are verified.

Renders patient care in a professional and courteous manner.

Prepares examination rooms for radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. Monitors inventory of supplies during room rotation. Maintain room cleanliness and neat appearance of work areas and dressing rooms.

Assists the radiologist in administering medications, contrast agents and all types of care to the patient.

Reviews each exam for technical accuracy (i.e. markers on images, technical quality, anatomical positioning, annotation, etc.) and completes verification process in PACS.

Assists Diagnostic Supervisor with PACS clean up. i.e.: Clean CR plates, erase cassettes, close and send exams from workstations, etc.

Completes and maintains personal educational requirements.

Maintains strict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according to Policy and Procedure.

 

EDUCATION

REQUIRED:

Graduate of AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology. 

Responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT for licensure

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: (required)

Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technology 

Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider

CT Tech 40hrs. Days - 9:00am to 9:30pm ***

1. Unit Name: CT.

2. Brief Description:

Under the direction of the CT Manager and CT Clinical Lead, the CT technologist performs diagnostic CT procedures at a high level of proficiency following established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines. The CT technologist ensures patient safety in all procedures and provides excellent customer service.

3. Years of Experience Required: 1 year of CT experience preferred but not required.

4. Skill Sets Required: CT Scanning at a high level of proficiency, IV and oral/GI contrast administration, ability to respond effectively in an emergency. EMR documentation capabilities, effective communication skills, effective organization skills, and demonstrates a professional and positive demeanor.

5. EMR (Charting System): Epic, Visage.

6. Machines Used/Experience Required: GE CT scanner experience preferred but not required

.7. Rotating Shifts Required: As required.

8. Certifications Required: ARRT (CT), Massachusetts state license in Computed Tomography.
