Role Summary

The Curriculum & Development Lead is responsible for onboarding, training, and educating autonomous vehicle safety drivers, test operations managers, and all Hub-centric personnel. The Curriculum & Development Lead is a charismatic and passionate individual who will develop, maintain, and instruct all new-hires at Hub Locations. This role will have a thorough understanding of the organization, mission, and requirements of all Autonomous Vehicle operations/requirements.

This role will coordinate with varying teams (operations, Government Affairs, Business Strategy, Product, etc.) to encapsulate the diverse training needs and requirements. They will frequently engage with overseas colleagues to align with training requirements across the entirety of the organization and align with business needs.

The Curriculum & Development Lead will monitor industry trends, coordinate regulatory requirements with Government Affairs, and continuously update training demands as required. They will develop and maintain the training programs and requirements for all commercial/pilot operations.

This individual will work closely with the Fleet Operations team to coordinate and plan for demonstrations. They will prepare the Autonomous Vehicle Safety Drivers for the requirements of each demonstration and be prepared to assist in the coordination and planning of all demonstration related items.

This role will write and design all training/curriculum materials for Hub Operations and the personnel it pertains to.

Role Requirements

Curriculum Development

• Safely operate an AV (Autonomous Vehicle) through diverse traffic conditions for an extended period of time. This includes the operation in Self-Driving mode and in manual mode - this is a role where you will spend a majority of your time in the car.

• Oversees training and development of Hub-Operations personnel

• Writes and updates procedures and curriculum as it relates to on-the-job knowledge and skills

• Instructs week 1 Safety Driver curriculum in addition to any ongoing learning topics

• Develops and organizes training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials

• Aligns and evaluates training curriculum with the standards set forth by applicable autonomous driving safety organizations and regulations

• Coordinates and plans onboarding week for new-hires and sessions with VWGoA HR for new employees and arranges on-the-job training for new hires

• Develops testing and evaluation procedures for new product features

Training and Continued Education

• Works with fleet operations management to ensure safety drivers and other applicable staff are aware of procedures and their routine updates.

• Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs and procedures and improves as needed

• Coordinates and arranges all test track training and facilitates requirements with external parties

Management Feedback

• Work with management to identify training needs based on product changes.

Skills

• Ability to pass a motor vehicle and criminal record background checks and drug screens in accordance with applicable law. This position may be subject to additional screenings conducted by third-party partners.

• Ability to identify training needs and build training programs and curriculums across multiple disciplines.

• Write and produce all training/curriculum documents and presentations.

• Instruct courses and material to multiple levels of a business organization (entry level - C-Suite).

• Attention to detail and sound judgment necessary to handle public road testing

• Work in a professional and courteous manner always

• Flexible mindset to test new workflows and logistics pertaining to commercial pilot operations

• Strong interest in technology and software and the ability to adapt to its ever-changing developments and improvements
