Position Purpose

Supervise custodial operations to ensure timely and sufficient custodial coverage to include: Plan, schedule and coordinate tasks, assign daily, weekly, and monthly projects. Maintain knowledge and familiarity of university facilities, university policies and procedures, FPO policies and procedures, chemicals and equipment. Oversee projects in progress and hear and resolve customer questions and complaints. Supervise custodial staff to include: interview, recommend new hires to Assistant manager, train employees, schedule staff, inspect work to maintain quality, conduct performance appraisals, hear and resolve employee questions and concerns, administer discipline according to University and FPO policies and procedures, and maintain confidential files on each employee. Coordinate safety training and enforce safety rules and regulations. Assign daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to employees. Assist Assistant Manager to include: prepare reports and compile statistics, monitor and recommend expenditures for the budget. Recommend improvements to policies, procedures, scheduling practices, etc. to ensure optimal utilization of resources. Assist in the communications with all departments to ensure customer service is foremost and their needs are met. Assist in the design, planning and execution of projects. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

1. Four years of custodial experience in an industrial or commercial or educational setting.
2. Two years of supervisory experience.
3. Experience in a University, hotel, or conference center setting preferred.
4. Event coordination, planning, and scheduling experience preferred.

Knowledge and ability to address issues concerning Bloodborne Pathogens, Proper Personal Protective Equipment, Hazmat HazCom, Lock out Tag out and Confined spaces.
Knowledge and ability to check out/in keys from FPO key locker.
