The Department is seeking a seasoned front desk receptionist with exceptional customer service skills and an eye for detail.

Your Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Serves as front desk telephone receptionist responsible for answering multiple phone lines.
  • Responds to general information calls, transfers calls and/or takes phone messages.
  • Provides first level assistance and information to general public, business professionals, government agencies in response to general requests and/or inquiries
  • Performs clerical support for 3 of our 9 divisions
  • Greets staff and guests, when on-site
  • Develops knowledge to aid customers in webpage navigation
The final candidate can expect to be paid at step 1 in the assigned pay range as a new hire, unless otherwise required by legislation or union contract. As a Customer Service Assistant 1, you will receive an increase after six (6) months then an annual step increase until you reach the last step in the pay range. Additionally, there are opportunities for possible annual cost of living (COLA) adjustments and a longevity pay supplement after five (5) years of state service.

Qualifications

3 months training or 3 months experience in office practices & procedures; 1 course or 3 months experience in public relations or customer service to include techniques for dealing with difficult people; 1 course or 3 months experience in typing, keyboarding, data entry or word processing; 1 course or 3 months experience in operation of personal computer.
