POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

The Customer Service / Inside Sales Manager will lead our inside sales/customer service team aligned with our business objectives overseeing the account management of customer. The customer service manager is responsible for business capture in the form of business proposal management (quotes) for new and existing opportunities including maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) with customers. This role involves strategic planning, analysis, and the management of sales processes and technologies. The customer service and contracts manager will support ongoing internal sales and bookings forecast activity, manage the commercial and military manufacturer's representative network, and be skilled and versatile enough to call on specific customers to coordinate bookings, and negotiate orders.

Duties include determination of order trends, demand forecasting, management of business capture targeting and closure, proposal and contract negotiation, brand management and ownership of the customer service performance for the CIRCOR Aerospace Hauppauge business.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Manage the customer service team, providing direction and resource management.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and aerospace industry regulations. Ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions
  • Negotiate, review, and draft a wide range of proposals including but not limited to sales/purchase agreements, nondisclosure agreements, service agreements, licensing agreements, and partnership agreements.
  • Collects and analyzes sales data to track performance against bookings / sales targets and to assist in planning and budgeting.
  • Defines and interprets customer requests/requirements, generates quotes/proposals, monitors/drives performance, negotiates pricing and terms, and supports SIOP.
  • Coordinate with various departments, including legal, finance, sales, engineering, supply chain, and program management, to support our customers.
  • Ensure that contract milestones, deliverables, and payment schedules are met.
  • Develop and maintain strategies that successfully grow base business in accordance with booking targets. Drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall sales operations function.
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of customer programs, requirements and organization.
  • Key contributor to the achievement of annual booking goals, budgets, and 5-Year STRAP Plans
  • Work with the Outside Sales Team to follow up and respond to technical and price quotations via Request for Information and Request for Proposal.
  • Work with other departments, such as legal, finance, sales, and engineering, to ensure that all relevant concerns are addressed in contracts.
  • Investigatesandresolvesclaimsor complaintsby collecting and analyzing information. Coordinates with relevant functions on technical and/or quality issues; resolves customer complaints covering invoices or billing discrepancies; researches account histories to assist in collection activities.
  • Approvesorauthorizes special price quotations and allowances, deductions, and adjustments on a case-by-case Determines the need for amendments or extensions to warranty or agreements. Determines when customer-requested changes are out-of-scope.
  • Ensurescompliancewith federal,state, and aerospace industry regulations. Ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions.
  • Represents the customers in meetings (Voice of the customer) with other functional areas and is responsible for customer satisfaction, maintaining communication, and the overall management of the customer relationship.
  • Negotiates, develops, monitors, and administers various contracts and agreements in partnership with other areas of the business.

Job Requirements:

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proven track record of success in sales support working with key OEM's and or Tier 2 customers within the aerospace & defense markets.
  • Strong customer service skills including the ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple sales.
  • Must have strong writing, planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both with customers and internally.
  • Must be a team player and have effective communication, interpersonal and team building skills and able to manage multiple tasks in a rapidly changing.
  • Knowledge of and experience of export compliance (ITAR/EAR); industry-specific requirements/standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access, and other applicable.
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with normal activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and impact.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year college in business, finance, marketing, or technical degree preferred, (mechanical or electrical engineering preferred.)
  • Min 10 years of progressive sales operations management, work order coordination, and/or contract management in Aerospace, Defense, or related market space.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to motivate and manage teams.
