Job Summary

The Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) is currently seeking to fill two (2) Customer Service Specialist Customer Service Specialist positions and one (1) Lead Customer Service Specialist position to provide customer support and assistance to MN cannabis industry stakeholders and constituents.

This position is located in St. Paul and may telework from home two days per week and is expected to be in the office three days per week.

A successful incumbent in this position will be able to:
  • Serve as the initial OCM contact, provide respectful and effective customer service, and handle inbound and outbound customer interactions
  • Assist customers in locating and utilizing self-service tools, managing their account, finding forms, and completing applications
  • Communicate application and eligibility status to customers as well as broad information related to OCM's policies and procedures, state statutes, and rules


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have one year of customer service or related experience. In addition, applicants must also demonstrate:
  • Ability to
  • Communicate in a variety of formats to gather and relay information with tact and diplomacy
  • Explain information in a clear, concise, and professional manner to both internal and external customers
  • Respectfully engage with clients, coworkers, and customers, when handling difficult or complex problems and resolving escalated complaints or disputes
  • Skill in
  • Database management and records management sufficient to enter and retrieve data and maintain electronic or paper files for efficient organization
  • Customer service sufficient to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information to a variety of customers over the phone, in person, and via email


To be considered for the Lead Customer Service Specialist position, applicants must have at least three (3) years of customer service or related experience and also demonstrate the following:
  • Skill in directing the work activities of employees to ensure standards, deadlines, and procedures/processes are met
  • Ability to oversee, lead, train, and evaluate the work activities of employees in their work area

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Knowledge of Minnesota cannabis laws
  • Experience working with large databases
  • Experience providing education to others
  • De-escalation training and a person-centered approach to service

Additional Requirements

Be a part of building the new Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) from the ground up and supporting Minnesota's new cannabis industry.
