The California Cybersecurity Integration Center (Cal-CSIC) is at the forefront of this effort, serving as the hub of state government's cybersecurity operations. Our mission is to reduce the number of cybersecurity incidents that could potentially damage California's economy, critical infrastructure, and computer networks. As a Senior Cyber Defense Forensics Analyst within the Cal-CSIC, you will play a crucial role in achieving this goal.

In this role, you will use your developing forensics skills to support incident response efforts and contribute to cybersecurity resilience initiatives across California's public and private sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with incident response, threat identification, and security assessment efforts.
• Providing support with digital forensics investigations.
• Helping with analyzing data from various sources to identify cyber threats.
• Collaborating with team members, security teams, and partner agencies.
• Contributing to the development and implementation of cybersecurity strategies and incident response plans.
• Staying current with emerging cybersecurity technologies and threat landscapes.

To succeed in this position, you will need:

• Experience in IT and cybersecurity roles, with a willingness to learn and grow.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, digital forensics, and incident response fundamentals.
• Familiarity with federal and state cybersecurity regulations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to support cybersecurity projects involving multiple agencies.

Special Requirements

DMV Pull Program : Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid Driver's License (DL). You must answer the questions addressing your DL on your application. Ensure you provide your DL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.

Homeland Security Special Requirements : This position requires access to National Security Information, and therefore, selected candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance. Upon hire, candidates will be required to apply for the clearance, and once granted, they must maintain it as a condition of employment. Eligibility for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sponsored SECRET security clearance is also mandatory, and candidates must be able to qualify for and maintain it.
