Summary

Cyber Security Engineer III

Position Highlights:


  • The Cyber Security Engineer Ill, will create and maintain security controls for applications of systems, perform threat simulations to detect possible risks, and provide security recommendations.

  • Responsible for leading security reviews and assessments and conduct decision making in the deployment of security controls. May instruct other teams on proper coding methods and also investigate, create, and recommend innovative technologies or other methods that will enhance the security of various technology environments.

  • This position requires strong technical skills in various computer operating systems, scripting languages, and cyber security experience across various platforms and applications. This position requires adaptability to the changing threat landscape of cyber security and must respond to after-hour emergencies when the need arises. This is a journeyman level position that requires no supervision to carry out the position responsibilities.



Responsibilities:


  • Lead security reviews and assessments and conduct decision making in the deployment of security controls

  • Manages and supports various cyber security monitoring and auditing activities

  • Leads/Co-leads the Cyber Incident Response Team when activated

  • Identifies and recommends appropriate cost-effective security controls

  • Reviews and recommends and assists in implementing innovative solutions to improve cyber security

  • Assists with policy, procedure, and process review, editing, and writing

  • Occasional travel to attend security forums, trainings, and/or conferences

  • This journeyman level professional will serve as mentor and resource to less experienced team members and periodically guides other Cyber Security team members



Credentials and Experience:


  • High School Diploma/GED and 11 years experience directly related to Information/Cyber Security across various platforms and applications to include evaluation and deployment of security practices as well as monitoring and auditing of implemented security controls.

    • Or

      • Associates Degree and 9 years experience


    • Or

      • Bachelor's Degree and 7 years experience


    • Or

      • Masters Degree and 5 years experience



  • ***Candidates holding a CISSP Certification can substitute three (3) years of required experience



Preferred Experience:


  • Experience in a Healthcare environment is desirable

  • Experience in PCI DSS

  • Experience with Various Cyber security controls, applications, and tools

  • Experience with Vulnerability and Risk mediation management

  • Experience with penetration testing, technical writing, firewalls, and network operations

  • Experience in performing Risk Assessment, review of network and security design architecture

  • Experience in Security Operations Center monitoring and workflows
