Cybersecurity Specialist

Silotech Group is currently seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team to work on current and future IT and Cybersecurity systems various departments and systems throughout the City of Houston. This role will be critical to protecting Cybersecurity infrastructure for the entire city and various departments.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

• Performs assessment of present levels of cyber security and defining present levels of risk.
• Protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction and develops IT security policies and standards.
• Ensures security of the organizations systems and information assets.
• Works with end users to determine needs of individual departments, and authorizing user access and familiar with domain structures and digital signatures.
• Implement systems security plans for critical city systems, create plans of actions and milestones for missing controls, and design data and information flow diagrams.
• Develop security authorization documentation with City departments for assigned systems.
• Monitor and work with City departments to update the system authorization boundary.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in IT, cybersecurity or related field.

Experience

• 4-7 years of related experience in a cyber security environment.

• Sec+
• GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
• CISSP
• SSCP
