Cytology Technologist - Lab - Full-Time - Days

Job Description:

• PURPOSE OF JOB :

To perform Cytology procedures as stated in the Cytology Procedure Manual necessary to assist in quality patient care and aid in the efficient and effective operation of the department

• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

60% 1. Screen and accurately diagnose gyn and non-gyn cytology slides.

10% 2. Prepare and stain gyn and non-gyn cytology specimens. Operates and maintains all Cytology

instrumentation.

10% 3. Utilize the computer to accurately accession, result and generate specimen reports.

10% 4. Maintains efficient operation of section. Insures accuracy of testing

5% 5. Assists histology with assigned tasks.

5% 6. Promotes patient safety by compliance with Organization/Department policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS :

• Education: CT ASCP or equivalent

• Experience: 1-2 years
