GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

The Division of Aging at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Boston is looking for exceptional candidates to join the Applied Integrative Analytics team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in uncovering valuable insights from health-related data, with the ultimate goal of improving health.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Multidisciplinary Data Analyst to apply their knowledge of clinical science, behavioral science, and epidemiology to develop and deploy novel analytic methodologies. The position must collaborate with healthcare professionals, researchers, and data experts to unlock the full potential of the cohort data to improve patient outcomes. This position will use their domain-specific and statistical knowledge to select, build, and validate predictive models for risk stratification, disease prediction, and treatment response.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies.
  2. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  3. Adhere to rigorous principles of reproducible research and data documentation.
  4. In collaboration with investigators and trainees, contributes to dissemination of results (e.g., scientific literature, reports, journal publications and presentations).
  5. Stay current with the latest developments in clinical data science and precision medicine.
  6. Performs all other duties/responsibilities as directed.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or related fields is preferred.
  • At least one year of research related experience is highly preferred.


SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Proven experience in clinical data analysis and statistical modeling.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards and EHR data.
  • Proficiency in the SAS programming language
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex and "messy" clinical data.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience troubleshooting independently and whilst working directly with other team members.
  • Experience in overseeing the complete, timely, and high-quality execution of analytic projects.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team setting.
  • High degree of initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to seek and accept guidance from senior personnel, as needed.
