We are seeking a motivated and skilled master's level student or recent graduate in Human Genetics, Genome Bioinformatics, Data Science, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field to join our team at the University of Pittsburgh.
Responsibilities:
Curate (wrangle, clean, and reformat) de-identified phenotype data exported from a large clinical REDCap database of children with traumatic brain injury (R programming skills required)
Prepare data for submission to the Database of Genotypes and Phenotypes (dbGaP)
Maintain clear and detailed documentation of data curation procedures and automate processes for future database changes / growth
Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations summarizing workflows and findings
Requirements:
High school diploma
Proficiency in the R programming language
Strong attention to detail is a must
Ability to work independently
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
Recommendations:
Bachelor's degree / Master's student status is a plus
Familiarity with clinical databases, data curation, and data wrangling is a plus
This is a part-time/temporary position.
