Tesla is seeking a talented Data Analyst to join our Global Service Supply Chain team, focusing on enhancing and revolutionizing the statistical forecasting process and models for our Vehicle Business Unit's service parts and accessories. This pivotal role involves optimizing our current forecasting methods and spearheading the adoption of innovative, state-of-the-art techniques to elevate forecast accuracy across various key commodities. As a vital contributor to Tesla's commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our service supply chain, directly impacting customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.


Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advanced time series forecasting models to improve both short-term and long-term statistical demand forecasts for Tesla's service parts and accessories, optimizing inventory across global distribution centers and service centers
  • Optimize and reconcile large-scale forecast hierarchies to support accurate store and location-level forecasts, utilizing operations research and optimization techniques to ensure alignment with overall service planning strategies
  • Collaborate with IT Systems and Applications Teams to deploy forecasting models on production servers, ensuring seamless integration and efficient operation within the service demand planning ecosystem
  • Create and refine data-driven dashboards and applications for demand planning that enhance decision-making, offering detailed insights into demand trends, patterns, and forecast deep dives. These tools should enable planners to quickly identify patterns, variances, and anomalies
  • Collaborate with the Reliability, Vehicle Software and Service Diagnostics Team to integrate additional variables into the service forecasting process, improving prediction of part failures
  • Work closely with the Analytics Team to refine and enhance demand planning tools using advanced data science techniques, ensuring the process is supported by state-of-the-art data solutions and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Communicate data-driven insights to Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Engineering Teams, and Service Leadership, providing key insights that drive strategic decision-making and improvements within the Service Supply Chain


Requirements
  • Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on statistical methods, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in mathematical and statistical analysis, particularly in supply chain or operations analytics, with the ability to interpret and draw conclusions from large, complex data sets
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and advanced machine learning and deep learning models, with hands-on experience in developing and deploying data science applications and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, R Shiny, or similar
  • Strong technical skills in statistical forecasting, and the ability to apply these methods to real-world service demand planning scenarios
  • Proven ability to manage multiple technical projects simultaneously, adapt to changing scopes, and prioritize tasks effectively, maintaining a hands-on approach to work
  • Experience working with IT Systems and Applications Teams to enhance and automate the Statistical Forecasting Process, ensuring seamless integration with existing service applications
  • A self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and the ability to stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, demand planning, and statistical analysis, ensuring the company's methodologies remain cutting-edge

      $80,000 - $258,000/annual salary, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
