Hybrid work location policy:

Lastinger Center for Learning supports and promotes a healthy work-life balance. To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university's Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee's FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.

Data Analyzation
  • Collects, summarizes, and/or analyzes data in preparation for generation of statistical and analytical reports.
  • Maintains computerized collection and tracking of relevant data.
  • Utilizes specified statistical software to analyze and interpret research data, as appropriate to the individual position.
  • Maintains appropriate records of research methods and results.
  • Works under guidelines for statistical reporting, analysis, and predictions governed by unit procedures, processes, and manuals.
  • Work involves some interpretation of data and/or defining the significance, bias, or extension and prediction of the data to customers or users.
Data Management
  • Conduct thorough data quality checks and validation to uphold the integrity of the center's data resources.
  • Design and develop robust business intelligence solutions using Microsoft Power BI to facilitate insightful academic and operational reporting.
  • Understand ETL processes to integrate data from diverse sources into SQL-based systems like MySQL or MS SQL Server, ensuring consistency and accessibility.
  • Execute complex SQL queries to analyze educational data, identifying trends and patterns that support program improvements and policy formulation.
  • Documentation
  • Assist Business Intelligence Analyst in training and supporting staff in using data tools and dashboards, enhancing data literacy across the center.
Project Management
  • Participate actively in team meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on data findings and supporting continuous learning and development within the team.
  • Investigate and integrate new technologies and analytical tools to expand the center's data analysis capabilities.
  • Collaborate with educational leaders and staff to define data requirements and customize data reports and dashboards to meet specific needs.
  • Maintain and upgrade existing BI systems to enhance functionality and user experience while ensuring data accuracy.
Other Duties as Assigned

Will travel for assigned business purpose minimally (1-2/quarter)

Expected Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in data analysis, preferably in an educational or research setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Microsoft Power BI, with proven ability to develop complex data visualizations and interactive reports.
  • Strong command of SQL and experience with database systems such as MySQL and MS SQL Server.
  • Experience with other BI tools like Tableau or Apache Superset is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Python for data analytics is advantageous but not required.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
