Job overview and responsibilities

This person would be part of the Digital Channels, Personalization, and Loyalty technology team. The Manager is responsible for developing analyses, processes, and reporting that deliver actionable insights. In this position you will also partake in multi-functional projects that require significant analytical and data-mining skill. Large scale data analysis will demonstrate SQL, R, Spotfire, and other analytical tools. Activities may include visualization, experimental design, performance assessment, and predictive analytics. The analyst will work closely with collaborators throughout a wide variety of department. This is a hybrid role based in Chicago. Candidates will work 2 days per week in the office (Willis Tower).

  • Develop and automate large data sets for the purpose of data mining and analysis
  • Data mining and analysis for ad hoc projects will include: exploratory data analysis, predictive analytics, and data visualization
  • Develop insightful dashboards that management can use to produce informed business decisions
  • Understand and apply available tools to solve evolving business problems
  • Effectively communicate findings and complex analytical solutions to upper management

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with a background in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research) preferred
  • 4+ years of experience as Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Developer, or a related analytical role
  • 1+ years (3+ plus years preferred) as a Manager and at least 2 years in a Fortune 500 company
  • Willingness to expand upon known programming skills and continually develop/learn new technical skills in support of new tools/methods
  • Significant exposure to SQL and relational databases
  • Experience analyzing ecommerce platforms for Web, Mobile App, Loyalty, Demonstrated experience in handling massive data sets and relational databases (SQL and Non-SQL)
  • High degree of proficiency in Excel
  • Strong analysis, data manipulation, and problem-solving skills
  • Desire to attack complex data sets
  • Ability to work independently and manage several simultaneous projects with a focus on results
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship


Preferred

  • Master's degree in analytical discipline preferred
  • Experience with DataDog / AppD / Kibana
  • Experience with AWS - Redshift, Quicksight, Athena
  • Knowledge of Big Data and Hadoop
  • Experience with text analytics and machine learning
  • Exposure to R, Python, and D3
