Responsibilities*
- Develop and apply innovative bioinformatic, statistical, computational, and machine-learning methods to analyze RNA-sequencing and behavioral data primarily from Drosophila but also humans.
- Accurately and effectively applying with minimal supervision programming languages such as Python, Matlab, and R, machine learning methods such as Partial RNA-sequencing data.
- Attend weekly lab meetings.
- Maintain detailed records of results which may include collecting, extracting & entering data.
- Analyze experimental results using customized software and common graphing and statistical software.
- Summarize and discuss experimental results.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and achieve short- and long-range plans.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's in Data Science, Bioinformatics or related degree and 1-3 years of experience.
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate well, frequently, and productively with PI and supervisor, and respond to supervisor requests for new initiatives.
- Demonstrated coachability, dependability, judgment, effectiveness, initiative, time management and organization.
- Must be able to effectively interact with other team members and convey results of data to both internal and external audiences in the form of oral and written presentations following explicit guidelines.
