Apex Systems is seeking an onsite Data Center Technician for a major Healthcare solutions provider. The Data Center Technician will work directly with the service provider as the main POC to oversee and escort the team on decommissioning of 2 Data Centers in Detroit MI and the modernization of the Troy MI Data Center.

Job Description Below:

I have a need for a individual contributor to support physical operational support for the following sites. The individual contributor will be supporting all operational IT (hardware rack and stack, cable tech etc.) and critical facility requests - project contractor management. Ideally would like to have a candidate that comes from a Data Center Technician background but will take a candidate out of school that understands the Core Network Infrastructure I.E TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS etc.

Project Information:

• Provide oversight of general data center operations and decommissioning project support

Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:

The individual contributor will be supporting all operational IT (hardware rack and stack, cable tech etc.) and critical facility requests - project contractor management.

• Provide oversight of general data center operations and decommissioning project support
• 40-50 hours a week supporting IT service ticket, escort support, critical facility and asset management, demand service and oversight repair activities
• After hours and Saturday support as needed to support essential business data center needs
• Visit TRY1 at least weekly to inspect the data center and generator

This resource will understand the difference between Copper Vs Fiber Connection, have the ability to identify Cabinets, what color Optics are which, have network troubleshooting experience, and communicate updates and status reports on the decommission progress.
