Job Summary:

The primary responsibilities of this role are to manage data, including to support data collection and analysis, and to support the dissemination of research related to the early detection, characterization, clinical outcomes, and progress monitoring of neurodegenerative diseases. Sources of data include speech acoustic and kinematic recordings, EMG, EEG, neuropsychological assessments, patient-reported outcome measures, clinical and neurobiological data, and neuroimaging. The Research Assistant will play a critical role in participant enrollment, data collection, processing and analysis across data streams. The Research Assistant will further support dissemination activities, including conference proposal and manuscript preparation and submission.

Job Duties:

  • 60% Data Processing and Analysis: Perform data processing and analysis tasks and enters research data in into study database
  • 20% Data Collection: Participate in data collection, ensuring the precise deployment and use of equipment, while maintaining effective communication with study participants and the research team.
  • 10% Supports dissemination activities, such as conference proposal and manuscript submissions, by conducting literature review, proof-reading tasks, formatting, and preparing figures/tables.
  • 10% Assists with other research-related office tasks, as needed


Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Holds a Bachelor degree in Speech and Language Sciences/Communication Disorders, Engineering, Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science, or a related field by the start date.
  • Experience or familiarity with research environment.


Skills & Abilities:

  • The ability to communicate effectively in the workplace.
  • Willing and able to learn new software applications as needed (training will be provided).
  • Enthusiasm and ability to solve problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other lab members is essential.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as MATLAB, Python, R is desired but not required.
