Position Description:
The Data Engineer (Sporting) is responsible for building out the backend data infrastructure and pipelines to support our sporting staff. Their role will involve building out processes and ETL pipelines to ingest, store and make easily accessible multiple data streams through cloud storage solutions.

Position Description:
The Data Engineer (Sporting) is responsible for building out the backend data infrastructure and pipelines to support our sporting staff. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences or equivalent area of study
- Expert python user and developer
- Expert ability in querying and building SQL-style databases (including Postgres and RedShift)
- Extensive experience with cloud-based data architecture such as AWS, GCP or Azure
- Ability to work in version control with Git
- Comfortable working with external APIs and with unstructured data
- Experience working with, ingesting and storing with large data sets
- 2-5 years experience in a data engineering role
- Ability to deliver high-quality work and execute under pressure and deadlines
- Able and willing to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge and understanding of soccer and the overall landscape in the U.S.
- Previous experience with a sporting organization (company or professional team)
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences or equivalent area of study
- Data science experience, particularly working with sporting data
- Web development experience (front, back end or full-stack)
- Strong verbal, written, in-person and presentation communication skills
- Excellent organizational, data collection, planning and leadership skills
- Bilingual (English, Spanish, or other)
- Thorough institutional knowledge of U.S. Soccer's mission, goals, technical plan, policies, practices, and procedures
