Insight Global is looking to add a remote Data Engineer to a large Beverage industry client's team. The Data Engineer will be joining the company's Supply Chain Analytics team to support a variety of business intelligence and analytics solutions across transportation, planning, warehousing, and several other teams in the supply chain organization. The ideal candidate will be able to design and implement processes that support a legacy environment while accelerating the migration to a scalable, cloud-based data infrastructure. Most of these processes will take place across the Azure ecosystem, particularly Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, and Delta Lake. Data engineers are also leaders in process reclamation, documentation, and continuous improvement. Additionally, data engineers will learn about the Power Platform, such as Power BI and Power Apps, as these are integrated into the data architecture that will replace legacy analytics processes.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree (computer science, IT/IS, engineering, statistics, supply chain, business, or related field)

3+ years of experience in data engineering or related field (software engineering, data analytics, business intelligence, data science)

Expert in SQL, with extensive experience writing DML and DDL statements

Strong Python skills, including big data packages (PySpark, Pandas, etc)

Experience with ETL/ELT processes, orchestration, and workflow management

Knowledge of relational database management systems and data warehousing concepts

Experience with Git, CI/CD processes, and knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar tools

Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software as necessary, with little oversight

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with Azure ecosystem - ADF, ADLS, Databricks, SQL Database

Experience with REST APIs and stream processing

Experience with Snowflake, Delta Lake, Oracle, and/or Microsoft SQL Server

Knowledge of a data visualization/BI tool - Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau, Looker, etc.

Knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, or similar tools (e.g. QuickBase)

Knowledge of SAS, R, or other programming languages

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, VBA, LucidChart/Visio, or similar tools
