Data Engineer, Partner Experience \u0026 Growth

The Partner Experience & Growth team is looking for an experienced, self-driven, analytical, and strategic Data Engineer to build the next generation of data and insights for Amazon advertisers and brands. In this role, you should have deep expertise in the design, creation, and management of large and complex datasets. You should have strong experience at building scalable solutions to flow huge amounts of data from production systems into the data lake. You should be able to design, implement and operate large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data structures for analytics and data science teams.

You will work closely with the Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, Software Development teams and other business stakeholders on many unique business problems and use creative problem solving to deliver actionable output in data gathering, transformation, ingestion and storage. You should be able to gather business and functional requirements and translate these requirements into robust, scalable, operable solutions with a flexible and adaptable data architecture. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will also be mentoring other junior resources, provide technical leadership, lead data engineering initiatives and build end-to-end analytical solutions that are highly available, scalable, stable, secure, and cost-effective.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 1+ years of data engineering experience

- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

- Experience with SQL

- Experience with one or more query language (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)

- Experience with one or more scripting language (e.g., Python, KornShell)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR

- Experience with any ETL tool like, Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $91,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
