AWS Financial Technology Team is looking for a technical leader results-oriented, driven who can help us create the next generation of distributed, scalable financial systems. We need someone to design and develop services that facilitate global financial transactions worth billions (USD) annually as we are building finance applications to manage the fastest growing AWS business.

As a Data Engineering Manager on AWS Finance Technology team, you will be leading a team of Data Engineers and will play a thought leadership role in our team - the team will look to you for advice on data and business issues facing them. You work very efficiently and routinely deliver the right things. You will have a company-wide view of the Data Engineering solutions that you build, and you will consistently think in terms of automating or expanding the results company-wide. This high impact role will have an opportunity to lead a team to help design and build our data infrastructure and work with emerging technologies such as EMR, Glue, Spark and associated AWS cloud services while driving business intelligence solutions end-to-end: business requirements, workflow instrumentation, data modeling and ETL

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of processing data with a massively parallel technology (such as Redshift, Teradata, Netezza, Spark or Hadoop based big data solution) experience

- 2+ years of relational database technology (such as Redshift, Oracle, MySQL or MS SQL) experience

- 2+ years of developing and operating large-scale data structures for business intelligence analytics (using ETL/ELT processes) experience

- 5+ years of data engineering experience

- Experience managing a data or BI team

- Experience communicating to senior management and customers verbally and in writing

- Experience leading and influencing the data or BI strategy of your team or organization

- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR

- Experience with AWS Tools and Technologies (Redshift, S3, EC2)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $153,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $264,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
