Job Duties

The Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking to hire a Program Support Technician for a wage position with the Document Imagin work center team in Richmond, Virginia. This is a high-volume DMV unit that responds to a variety of requests from internal and external customers.

This position receives title applications, driver license applications and other supporting documentation from the DMV Customer Service Centers, DMV work centers, and dealers statewide; also receives/reviews various driver reports from numerous areas of the agency.

This position is responsible for reviewing and ensuring all appropriate documents received are ready for processing, scan various size documents and perform quality control edits as necessary, operate scanning equipment and perform operator maintenance on the equipment. Responsible for maintaining work in sequence, assuring that each document has been scanned, verify the quality control queue from Back Office Scanning and perform necessary corrections.

This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

•Demonstrated experience in time-management, problem solving, and critical thinking capabilities, experience meeting time sensitive deadlines.
•Excellent skills in communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with personnel at all levels of the organization.
•Experience in identifying, escalating and communicating issues and progress to management in an effective and succinct manner.
•Experience in planning and developing initiative goals, key impacts, and objectives; ability to negotiate and garner support for agency initiatives and to build effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
•Considerable experience in document analysis, research and evaluation techniques. Working knowledge of mainframe, OnBase, and other software products.
•Considerable skill in the use of a personal computer, utilizing spreadsheet, database, flowcharting, and Microsoft office suite applications.
•Lift 25-50 lbs. boxes to retrieve work to meet daily goals set.
