About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our Big Data and Advanced Analytics department. As a Lead Data Scientist, you will be pivotal in collaborating with the Data Engineering team and various business units to tackle oil and gas midstream challenges through the use of machine learning, data science algorithms, and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and independently manage data science and machine learning projects across multiple business functions
  • Identify, frame, and define data science and machine learning opportunities by understanding business problems and needs
  • Develop, implement, and maintain models and solutions to address business issues
  • Present and defend analysis results, modeling approaches, and findings to stakeholders
  • Collect, clean, and transform both internal and external data sources
  • Analyze data and provide insights through visualizations and dashboards
  • Engage in strategic planning discussions related to optimization, data science, and big data analytics
Required Qualifications:
  • Over 5 years of hands-on experience solving business problems in supply chain, logistics, or operations using probability, statistics, visualization, and predictive modeling
  • More than 5 years of professional experience writing production code in Python
  • Strong software engineering skills, including best practices in software design, API design, design patterns, version control, and considerations for performance, logging, maintainability, refactoring, testing, and debugging
  • Hands-on experience with MLOps
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong communication skills to convey insights and methodologies clearly and effectively
  • Capability to work independently as well as with team members from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with AWS
  • Educational background in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related scientific field
