Hennepin Healthcare has an opening for a Data Specialist in the Ryan White Positive Care Clinic located in downtown Minneapolis. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. The position is fully grant funded position for one year (July 1st 2024-June 30th, 2025) - with potential for longer term employment if grant funding continues.

SUMMARY

The Data Specialist provides support by utilizing knowledge of software and databases, specifically MS Excel and Access, PowerBI, Crystal Reporting, Epic, and Provide to manage and analyze data. This includes collecting data, creating, and maintaining a variety of reports and databases that are updated on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Analyzes results and presents results and recommendations to management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Collects data from a variety of sources to update reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis

Creates and manages ongoing databases and metric storage (including but not limited to: MS Excel and Access, PowerBI, Crystal Reporting, Epic, and Provide); provides technical support, training, and guidance to application end-users

Manipulates and analyzes data retrieved from databases and other sources

Interprets data results and test for validity

Summarizes results creating graphical and tabular data presentations

Presents analyses of data projects, explaining trends and areas of opportunity to management

Performs other administrative duties as assigned, but only when trained to do so

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education / Work Experience
  • Two (2) years of experience in a position requiring use of databases/software, such as MS Excel and Access, PowerBI, Crystal Reporting, Epic, and Provide to create and maintain reports, analyze results, and present analysis and recommendation to management
OR
  • An approved equivalent of education and experience
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel and Access, PowerBI, Crystal Reporting, Epic, and Provide
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to analyze reports, communicate findings, and provide recommendations to managers
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal direction
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education
  • Healthcare customer service experience
