Short-Term Program Objectives:
The Carlson Global Institute is interested in hiring temporary staff as an Event Program Manager who will support executive-level event planning and execution from June 3 to September 13, 2024 (15 weeks). The expected work time is three days a week in our office on campus, and the work hour is 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Between Monday 8/19 - Saturday 8/31 there would be work Monday - Friday and potentially over the weekend (8/24-8/25), if the schedule of the candidate permits.

- To utilize core concepts learned from classroom in exploring the practical applications of global strategies as well as business opportunities and challenges
- To meet with faculty advisors on doctoral thesis development and research plan, and to engage in dialogue with fellow students.
Scope of Work/Project Summary
The Carlson Global Institute is interested in hiring temporary staff as an Event Program Manager who will support executive-level event planning and execution from June 3 to September 13, 2024 (15 weeks). The expected work time is three days a week in our office on campus, and the work hour is 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Between Monday 8/19 - Saturday 8/31 there would be work Monday - Friday and potentially over the weekend (8/24-8/25), if the schedule of the candidate permits.
The daily work will include, but not limited to, the following:
- Event planning and execution including travel coordination (hotel, bus, flight, meals, etc.)
- Responds to emails and other digital queries and correspondence.
- Inputs and updates information in databases and spreadsheets
- Drafts and edits letters, reports, and other documents
- Works closely with other staff and supports other colleagues as needed.
- Works with sensitive information with discretion to maintain confidentiality and security
The hourly rate for this position is $25 per hour.
Qualifications
The qualified candidate will process relevant expertise including, but not limited to, the following:
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workplace
- Executive-level event planning and execution experience
- Maintain confidentiality for clients
- Possible after-hours work during the key program dates (1-week)
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English
- Chinese (Mandarin) language proficiency is a plus
