Job Description:
PURPOSE OF JOB:
Under the guidance of the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Financial Planning and Analytics, utilizes business intelligence solutions to support the financial and strategic goals for a $450 Million Health System by providing leadership with data and insights for growth and improvement of financial results. Responsible for the optimization and advancement of decision support tools to maintain and enhance the comprehensive range of financial assessment and planning activities. Supports the detailed compilation of health system strategic financial plan; conducts routine and ad hoc special projects as well as other financial assessments to evaluate on-going operations and new initiatives for the health system. Performs integral tasks related to monthly, quarterly and annual close, providing trend analysis and reporting for senior leadership, board and external reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
QUALIFICATIONS : Education: This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Intelligence, Health Information Management, or other Healthcare related field. Master's degree, certification, or commensurate skills and expertise highly desired.
Experience: Minimum of 7 to 10 years finance/accounting, auditing or analytics experience, with direct knowledge of not-for-profit or healthcare.Well practiced in financial and statistical reporting, trending analysis, cost accounting and decision support.Additional working knowledge, healthcare industry standards, clinical coding and third party payment practices.
Possesses exceptional analytic skills.Demonstrated proficiency with automated financial and reporting systems, data mining capabilities to merge and assess information from various sources/warehouse, cost accounting and decision support reporting tools and general ledger applications.Comfortable working independently and as a member of a cross functional team; adaptable to handle both structured and unstructured projects.
Excel in prioritizing and executing multiple tasks often requiring adherence to structure strict deadlines in a fast paced and changing environment
Certificate/License Helpful:e.g., Lean Six Sigma; Management Accounting, Healthcare Finance or Public Accounting
Other Skills:Strong Analytic and Problem solving abilities
Interpersonal and written communication skills
Ability to coordinate priorities and work collaboratively as a resource for the team
Excellent personal computer skills (e.g. MS Office)
