Job Description

The Department of Dental Medicine at Jamaica Hospital provides high-quality dental services for children, adolescents, adults, and special needs patients. Our state-of-the-art dental center is staffed by a professional team consisting of attendings, hygienists, residents, and support staff. We are currently seeking experienced Dental Assistants for immediate P/T day and Per Diem shift opportunities in our Richmond Hill and St. Albans dental clinics. .

SPECIFIC DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Working closely and under the supervision of the dentist, Lead Assistant, and Office Manager.
• Greeting, seating, and draping patients.
• Assisting dentist during dental procedures.
• Sterilizing instruments.
• Setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
• Taking x-rays and arranging and setting up patient treatment rooms.
• Ordering dental supplies and maintaining dental equipment inventory.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
• Minimum 3 years of general dental assisting experience preferred but will consider bright motivated new grads.
• Completion of the Dental Assistant certificate program is highly preferred.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Knowledge of dental terminology

SALARY

$23.93/hr. - $24.47/hr.
