This position provides executive-level management, strategic support, advice, thought partnership and consultation to the Vice President, Philanthropy Marketing & Communications and Donor Experience and is a member of the VP's leadership team. The Deputy will work closely with the VP on advancing the Office of Philanthropy's (OoP) enterprise strategy for City of Hope, including strategy and approach to ensure enterprise readiness and sustainability in support of City of Hope's philanthropic vision and strategic plan. This role will work closely with OoP leadership, key stakeholders across City of Hope OoP, and serve as a key advisor, strategic problem solver, to support the organization. The Deputy interfaces and actively engages internal leaders and external partners on behalf of the VP to ensure philanthropy goals are met so that the Office of Philanthropy is able to advance the mission and goals of City of Hope.

As a successful candidate, you will:
  • Plans, designs, develops, schedules, and organizes people/resources (internal and external) to meet project objectives based on proposed activities and timelines.
  • Fosters seamless collaboration and communication between cross-functional teams.
  • Prepares executive-level status reports on project plans, progress and results of activities.
  • Responsible for program implementation, as assigned.
  • Responsible for key PMCE projects, programs, and initiatives across the City of Hope System.
  • In partnership with VP and their leadership team, creates integrated plans and roadmaps for Philanthropy Marketing, Communications and Experience priorities, and monitors progress through robust status reporting and program management.
  • Assists in the coordination of creating integrated budgets for all business units reporting to the VP, Philanthropy.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all marketing and communications efforts.
  • Supports Development of presentations or framework for the VP to present at both internal and external conferences/meetings and speaking engagements.
  • Researches and prepares background reports on external contacts and organizations to ensure the VP is prepared for meetings and decision-making.
  • Prepares and delivers reports with analysis, recommendations and action plans Demonstrates strong executive-level analysis, preparation, presentation and organizational skills.




Your qualifications should include:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, health care administration, public administration, public policy, public health, or related field.
  • 4 additional years of experience plus the minimum experience requirement may substitute for minimum education.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with strategic projects, programs or vertical integration with 5 years managing direct reports.


Preferred experience:

  • Master's degree in business administration, economics, health care administration, public administration, public policy, public health, or related field. Law degree due to Gift Agreement responsibilities.
