The Rapid Integration and Prototyping Department within the Leidos Dynetics Land Systems Sector is seeking talented a Mechanical Design Engineer. Candidate will work with a group of design engineers to support design, development and deployment of advanced sensor systems. Position will require development of CAD packages (using SolidWorks, AutoCAD and Visio) for the production and documentation of system components. Designed parts will range from structural components to integrated electronic assemblies and supporting cable harnesses for electrical systems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Practice sound design techniques across a variety of areas including structural design for weldments and bolted assemblies, design of effective thermal dissipation solutions, and design of custom electronics enclosures.
• The ideal candidate will bring familiarity with CAD software and understanding of basic design practices and concepts, with strong rapid prototyping skills that include design for 3D printing, CNC machining and a self-starting maker/fabricator approach to problem solving.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
• Position requires demonstrated expertise in design work using a CAD package similar to SolidWorks.
• Ability to design for rapid prototyping and fabrication in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to assemble and integrate systems in field settings, perform field maintenance.
• US Citizenship required and ability to obtain security clearance.

Pay Range: Pay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00
