Responsibilities

  • Manages the Membership Department's donor correspondence and daily contact with members. Coordinates with the appropriate WFSU department to assure that donor questions, complaints and comments regarding membership, programming and technical issues are promptly resolved. Donor communication includes phone calls, emails, letters and in person meetings with members. Organizes the Research and tracking of data on donor contacts and recommends strategies to the Membership Department to help enhance member services and donor communications.
  • Maintains the Allegiance database of members, prospects, and volunteers. Process pledges and payments from all sources, including SunTrust, online donations, credit cards, EFTs, payroll deductions, FSU Foundation, car donations, and matching gifts. Keeps accurate and timely records of all payments processed and follows proper cash handling procedures. Keeps membership department informed of issues related to payments.
  • Manages end of day processes including coordinating monthly pledge reminder notices and mailing new pledge invoices. Develops and implements processes and procedures for direct payment of pledges by our members using the online personal input module for the membership database. Develops donor specific correspondence related to their contribution and the tax-deductible nature of a particular gift. Coordinates and organizes the resolution of returned mail including updating the member's record in the Membership Database.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues that arise with WFSU's donor database. Provide perpetual assessment of all Allegiance data processes. Coordinates the maintenance, updates and troubleshooting when necessary, with the Allegiance Software Engineers.
  • Manages volunteers and pledge room activities for the radio pledge drives. Coordinates training and support to volunteers who are accepting on-air pledges by showing them how to use the online payment system properly and providing assistance to them with any issues or questions that may arise during the drives. Processes any in person payments that may come through the pledge room during drives.
  • Coordinates and organizes station sponsored events by providing support to the Membership Manager and Membership staff with planning, set up/clean up, and member contact at station events.
  • Serves as a backup to other Membership Department staff when they are unavailable. Provides backup for other Membership staff as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

  • Customer service experience, with the ability to think critically and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously with strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and able to learn new applicable computer applications.
  • Ability to learn emerging technologies.
  • Non-profit administrative experience.
  • Fundraising experience.

WFSU Public Media is a member station of both National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). WFSU Public Media covers a wide and diverse area with quality public media programming.
