Bachelor Degree

Additional Educational Requirements:

In lieu of a Bachelor Degree, 12 years of professional experience involving technology-focused process improvements, transformations, and/or system implementations.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

A DevOps Engineer will:

• Work with development and architecture teams to design and implement a DevOps strategy for new services in-line with the current processes;
• Understand and enhance the current CI/CD process and keep it automated and transparent to the development team;
• Have a mindset to automate everything related to DevOps processes and manage all updates to infrastructure and application deployments via code;
• Help the development and architecture teams to evolve and mature the Product design by providing suggestions and feedback to utilize the latest Cloud services and technologies;
• Understand the security and compliance policies of the organization and implement them in CI/CD automation;
• Understand network, firewall, security configurations and policies and design the services accordingly;
• Enable collection of performance metrics for the supported services;
• Keep cost in mind during architecture and design process. Also analyze cost of running the services and keep infrastructure expenses in check;
• Ensure that backups and disaster recovery plans are in alignment with the company directives;
• Participate in capacity planning, optimization and system monitoring improvements;
• Interface with the Security team and obtain approvals before releases are deployed to production;
• Ensure logging, monitoring and alerting are configured for infrastructure and application layers;
• Create easy to understand documents regarding the infrastructure configuration as well as DevOps processes and procedures; and,
• Maintain & advance a culture of trust, integrity, accountability and teamwork.

Additional Educational Preferences:

At least 5+ years of experience in software development or in the DevOps space in delivery of software products.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

Our DevOps engineers have a passion for solving problems, exploring new tools and continuously looking for ways to automate and work together with our Global teams. Demonstrating extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success as a team leader:

• Working with container/orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Services like GKE, AKS, EKS etc.) for 5+ years;
• Working with infrastructure as code to automate deployment (Terraform) for 5+ years;
• Working with Helm chart creation and usage experience to manage Kubernetes workloads for 5+ years;
• Possessing 5+ years working with scripting in Bash and/or Python;
• Possessing 5+ years working with Cloud Technologies (AWS and GCP preferred);
• Possessing 5+ years working with or around code repository systems (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub);
• Possessing 5+ years working with Jenkins/Azure DevOps, Maven, or other CI/CD/CM Tools, Git, Docker Registry, Package repository;
• Installing, managing and using a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools;
• Designing highly available systems;
• Working in a fast paced and Agile environment, Scrum experience a plus and an automation first approach; and,
• Understanding and focus on business outcomes with the ability to collaborate and reach across functional borders,
