This is an excellent position for an experienced mechanic who enjoys working on a variety of fleet. In this role, you will be assigned repairs, inspections, and maintenance of light, medium, and/or heavy fleet vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities

Specifically, this position:

• Inspects heavy and light equipment in the field and shop to identify repair needs and makes field repairs whenever possible.
• Ensures compliance with DOT standards and inspections.
• Uses computerized work order system.
• Performs preventative maintenance services on all equipment.

We are looking for a candidate that will:

• Have proven experience diagnosing and repairing diesel and gas engines, handling brake systems, transmissions, differentials, and front and rear axle assemblies. Additionally, we need someone skilled in repairing and installing hydraulic pumps and controls, as well as diagnosing electrical issues.
• Apply troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Utilize computer equipment for diagnosis and repairs.
• Bring a team-player approach with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

All candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Three (3) years of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities required.
• Possession of, and ability to maintain, a Class "B" CDL at the discretion of the Fleet Director, depending upon necessity and position, required.
• Possession of a valid Driver's License by date of hire required.
• Certification in auto or diesel technology from an accredited program preferred.
