Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, WI is seeking a DIETARY AIDE to join our FOOD SERVICES team!

The Dietary Aide serves cafeteria customers, collects money from customers, and prepares and stocks the cafeteria for meal service. This person also performs cleaning duties as assigned. Must be able to follow all applicable policies, procedures, schedules, sanitation, and safety programs.

HOURS: Part-time/Benefit Eligible or .6 FTE; 48 hours Bi-weekly; Varied Shifts

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Provides service to cafeteria customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Stocks food, supplies, and utensils for the cafeteria.
  • Maintains coffee supply for customers.
  • Assists with assembly of individual salads and sandwiches for sale in the cafeteria.
  • Operates cash register correctly and provides correct change to customers.
  • Follows safe food handling practices, and maintains sanitation by thoroughly cleaning work, service, and equipment areas.
  • Serves food that is at the correct serving temperature and quality. Records food temperatures per department policy/procedure. Any substandard quality food must be brought to the attention of department leaders and properly discarded.
  • Functions as a float position (as needed) assisting the cafeteria and cook employees with pre-prep duties.
  • Uses proper sanitation techniques in the storage, handling, and preparation of food items.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Assists in the dishwashing area if needed.
  • Demonstrates commitment to providing quality products and services to our customers.
  • Seeks opportunity to continually improve and learn.
  • Communicates effectively with others.
  • Stays current on all safety and infection control mandates.
  • Maintains department specific accountabilities as determined, maintained, and housed within each unit's Scope of Service.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :

Education

  • Knowledge of safe food handling and preparation practices normally acquired through a demonstrated ability to read, write and follow verbal and written directions.
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent beneficial.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a food services department beneficial
