Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson seeks full-time Dietary Clerks to join their team in Iron Mountain, Michigan.

The dietary clerk role is all about making sure our patients have a great dining experience. You'll help with meal selections, make sure trays are prepared and delivered accurately, and manage food orders. You'll also assist in the cafeteria, handle the cash register, and keep everything clean and organized. Your friendly attitude and attention to detail will make a big difference in creating a positive dining experience for everyone.

WORK SCHEDULE. Shifts are generally 5am - 1pm, 6:30am - 2:30pm, 7am - 3pm, 11pm - 7am, or as assigned. We make every effort to accommodate preferences in scheduling. This position participates in a rotating weekend work schedule.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.
  • Assist patients with meal selection using the Dietary Management System, coordinating with diet guidelines from the Dietician and communicating any discrepancies.
  • Accurately assemble and deliver patient and guest trays according to their menu selections, using proper portion control. Handle tray pick-up, deliver food and beverage orders to other departments, and help with special event orders as needed.
  • Serve meals and manage supplies in the cafeteria, including running the cash register and handling money.
  • Operate the dish machine and wash dishes, pots, pans, and carts, following proper cleaning and sanitation procedures.
  • Support cooks by cleaning vegetables, preparing salads and desserts, and assisting with various food prep tasks.
  • Review and meet ongoing competency requirements to keep your skills and knowledge up-to-date and perform role-specific functions effectively.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience working in hospital food service, a restaurant, or in quantity food preparation preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional demeanor that ensures trust and competence amongst peers and patients.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks and maintain a high level of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Ability to physically and mentally carry out the functions of this position which includes working in a kitchen environment with exposure to hot and cold temperatures, standing for extended periods of time, and lifting/lowering up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-hire drug screening and background check.
