Dietary Cook

Job Description

A dietary cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals for residents at Paramount Senior Living. The dietary cook must ensure that all meals are prepared according to dietary restrictions and guidelines, and that they are nutritious and appetizing.

How You Will Make An Impact

• Prepare, cook, and serve food according to sanitary standards.
• Assist in directing and supervising dietary staff.
• Review menus and prepare appetizing meals.
• Help order and purchase food and supplies.
• Maintain good working relationships with staff and other departments.
• Ensure department policies and procedures are followed by everyone.

The Skills You Will Need

• Empathy and the capacity to care for the resident's social, emotional, physical, and mental concerns.
• A team player who is adaptable to modifications in the day-to-day operations to meet the needs of the facility.
• Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities to prepare quality food in accordance with current applicable state and local standards, as well as established policies and procedures of facilities operated by National Health Management. Assure that quality food service is provided at all times.
• Previous experience in institutional cooking.
• High school graduate or GED.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to Pass Criminal Background Check.
