What you'll do
- Provide sound nutrition practices and supportive environments for deployed military operations that optimize human performance
- Perform a variety of inpatient and outpatient duties, including nutrition assessment and patient education and menu planning
- Determine requirements for foodservice facilities, personnel, equipment and operations
- Serve as an adviser to a commander in matters of nutrition and dietetics

REQUIREMENTS
You must meet several requirements before joining the Air Force. These concern your background, overall health and other standards set by the Air Force, Department of Defense and federal law.
- Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and completion of a didactic program in dietetics approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) - Qualifications
- Knowledge of the principles of human nutrition, regular and therapeutic diets, cultural food habits and foodservice management
- Minimum of 24 months of experience in dietetic assignments
- Completion of Officer Training School course
- Must be between the ages of 18 and have not reached your 42nd birthday
