Description:
JOB PURPOSE:
Design and implement innovative digital solutions to support the health systems digital transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and technological capabilities. The Solutions Architect leads a centralized service designing, implementing, and maintaining solutions that enhance patient care, streamline operations, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. The role serves as a leader within the Digital Business Technology department, providing architectural and application development expertise required to deliver on digital transformation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Solution Design and Architecture
1. Develop and maintain the overall architecture of digital solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and healthcare industry standards.
2. Design end-to-end solutions that integrate various healthcare systems (EHR, ERP, CRM, etc.) with new digital applications.
3. Create detailed architectural diagrams and documentation to support solution implementation and maintenance.
4. Assess and recommend new technologies and platforms that can improve healthcare delivery and operational efficiency.
5. Lead the integration of third-party systems and applications into the existing IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless interoperability and data flow.
Compliance and Security
6. Ensure all digital solutions comply with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant standards.
7. Implement robust security measures to protect patient data and ensure the integrity of healthcare systems.
Stakeholder Collaboration
8. Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and IT stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.
9. Work closely with project managers, developers, and other team members to ensure successful project delivery.
Technical Leadership and Mentorship
10. Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
11. Mentor other team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Performance Optimization
12. Monitor and analyze the performance of digital solutions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements.
13. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues that arise during the development and operation of healthcare systems.
Documentation and Reporting
14. Maintain comprehensive documentation of architectures, design decisions, and solution configurations.
15. Prepare and present reports on project status, risks, and performance metrics to senior management.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree with a major in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, or a closely related field.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Four (4) years of application design & development and/or system implementation experience required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
8 years of experience in IT, with a focus on solution architecture and system integration.
Deep understanding of healthcare systems, digital solutions, and enterprise architecture.
Expert level experience defining the system architecture landscape, identifying gaps between current and desired end-states, and delivering a comprehensive solution that will enable achievement of the desired business outcomes
Proven experience in healthcare IT, including familiarity with EHR/EMR systems, healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR), and regulatory requirements.
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their application in healthcare environments.
Experience incorporating AI models and functions into composite solutions.
Expertise in microservices architecture, APIs, and modern integration techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
Masters degree preferred
