Dimensional Engineering Technician, Cybertruck, Body in White

The Dimensional EngineeringTechnician ensures tooling components and assemblies meet engineeringspecifications and tolerances in the BIW Cybertruck shop. They will collaboratewith engineers and quality control to resolve dimensional issues and assistwith process engineering investigations. This role includes designing fixturemodifications and analyzing data to meet manufacturing KPIs.



Responsibilities

• Adjust fixtures/jigsby making data driven input modifications
• Maintenance oftooling/fixtures to ensure process capability
• Investigate thedimensional deviation of in/outsourcing parts, and provide rework instructionsper technical specification
• Interpret engineeringdrawings and specifications to determine dimensional requirements
• Troubleshootproduction line calls, investigate dimensional root-cause, and plan geometricalvalidation
• Participate incontinuous improvement initiatives for dimensional inspection processes
• Collaborate withengineers to identify and resolve dimensional problems, with production to runtrials and metrology to measure product

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in tooling,dimensional equipment / accuracy in a body shop or other related department
• Capable to perform dimensional tooling or part-fit inspections
• Ability to communicate effectively about quality issues on the productionfloor
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineeringdrawings and specifications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Shift flexibility depending on demand
