Summary
  • Position Summary
    • The Director of Philanthropy is responsible for leading the planning and execution of coordinated philanthropy program on behalf of the assigned region. Program oversight includes daily philanthropy operations, recommending regional goals, annual giving, local events and maintaining a substantive assignment pool of major donors. The Director will work closely with the MaineHealth philanthropy leaders directly responsible for overseeing major gifts, systems, and donor relations. In partnership with philanthropy leadership. Will develop and implement a regional strategic plan to secure philanthropic support for the highest priorities in the region.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: B.S. Degree.
    • License/Certifications: Certified Funding Raising Executive preferred
    • Experience: Five years or more experience at a leadership level in either a healthcare, educational or foundation philanthropy program. Direct experience soliciting leadership gifts, basic knowledge of gift planning and capital campaign experience preferred. Proven track record of success in hitting fund-raising goals.
    • Knowledge of fundraising fundamentals, including HIPAA regulations, gift acceptance protocols, and demonstrated success with volunteer engagement, donor relations and stewardship and an understanding of non-profit governance in a matrix management environment. Previous experience managing Annual Giving, campaigns, corporate solicitations, grant proposal preparation and special events.
