USPI Director of Procurement

JOB DETAILS:

The Director of Procurement at USPI oversees Supply Chain management activities, including cost savings projects, contract compliance, and overall financial improvement. Daily responsibilities include leading supply expense initiatives, promoting operational best practices, executing corporate contracting decisions, conducting data analyses, tracking metrics, and overseeing facility-level MMIS system performance. The Director of Procurement also provides guidance to facility Materials Managers while partnering with operators to advance operational and financial programs.

Reporting to the USPI Senior Director of Supply Chain Operations and Market Chief Financial Officers, the Director of Procurement oversees 50-100 healthcare facilities, including Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs) and Surgical Hospitals.

The position requires up to 50% travel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of this job description include but are not limited to:
  • Assist the Senior Director and Market Chief Financial Officers in setting supply chain strategies.
  • Lead cost savings objectives while promoting best procurement best practices.
  • Analyze financial information and implement strategic solutions to meet EBITDA targets.
  • Manage market compliance with Tenet / USPI and GPO national contracts.
  • Actively participate in regional market meetings and stay informed of operator targets.
  • Drive enterprise process improvements and strategy recommendations.
  • Provide market-focused prioritization and support across multiple procurement initiatives.
  • Identify and lead efficiencies across purchased services and utilization initiatives.
  • Ensure successful integration of new facilities by partnering with operators.
  • Conduct market level operational reviews, inventory audits, and accruals optimization.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Market Presidents, Market Chief Financial Officers, and Regional Vice Presidents while ensuring effective communications between corporate and facility leadership teams.

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
  • A bachelor's degree in healthcare management, hospitality management, supply chain, or a related business area is required.
  • Candidates must have at least 3 - 5 years of proven experience in healthcare or hospitality supply chain management, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Advanced experience in managing supply chain operations, customer service, strategic sourcing, value analysis, MMIS management, and vendor relations is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and MMIS is required.
  • Successful candidates will also have strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities. Candidates with past consulting or value delivery experience will be prioritized.

COMPENSATION
  • Pay: $120,016-$191,568 annually. Compensation depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
  • Position may be eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan bonus of 10%-25% depending on role level.
  • Management level positions may be eligible for sign-on and relocation bonuses.
