Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional Director of Validation to join our Interconnect Business Unit team in North America or India. Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.

Reporting to the VP of Product Engineering, this director position will be responsible for leading the post-silicon activities and delivering high-quality products into the marketplace to grow revenue. These activities include development of test infrastructure, bring-up of new devices, characterization, and validation, ensuring specification compliance, screening, and delivering Engineering Samples, handoff to and support of operations team for production, and delivery of any product firmware and software collateral. The director will manage a strong team of system and solution engineers with focused expertise on interconnect and networking standards, ATE, bench testing and FPGA based evaluation platforms, end-user system platforms, validation automation, BIOS, and firmware development. The position will also require direct interaction with customers and the ecosystem to collaborate on testing strategy, correlate results, and deliver reports.

Position can be in: San Jose, California; Vancouver, Canada; or other US / Canada locations.

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • BSEE or equivalent technical degree; MSEE strongly preferred
  • 10+ years experience in managing engineering organizations
  • 10+ years experience in validating and delivering high volume, high reliability products into a competitive market with demanding customers
  • Direct experience with testing PCIE and DDR interfaces are highly desired
  • Deep knowledge of best industry practices in automated testing (Advantest 93K experience preferred), trimming, and screening mixed-signal chips with tight specifications
  • Self-driven and able to act on high-level objectives independently and urgently
  • Proven leader who has recruited, developed, and retained high performing teams
  • Proven ability of change management and pulling team together around standard processes
  • Ability to properly size efforts, make commitments, and hold self and team accountable
  • Experience partnering with engineering and product marketing early in product life cycle to ensure proper DFT and DFM requirements are met
  • Experience partnering with operations and supply chain teams to identify and implement an effective combination of manual and automated test coverage to ensure product quality
  • Track record of maintaining highest quality standards and managing the release of samples such that the customer experience is always positive
  • Positive, winning attitude and excellent communication skills
  • Outstanding customer facing skills
