Why does the job exist?

Incumbent will be responsible for creating and finalizing daily and monthly Nursing schedules for the Adult Psychiatric and Forensic Divisions.
Incumbent will do KRONOS for Nursing staff and approve overtime on KRONOS weekly. Will assure KRONOS forms are being submitted for overtime and day off requests.
Incumbent will schedule and arrange out of town appointments and discharges.
Incumbent will also provide direct nursing care services at the Adult Psychiatric and Forensic Division as well as transport patients/clients/ residents to appointments as needed.

How does it get done?

Incumbent will work under the supervision of the House Nurse or House Nurse Administrator.
Incumbent will be responsible for creating and finalizing daily and monthly Nursing schedules for the Adult Psychiatric and Forensic Divisions.
Incumbent will also provide direct nursing care services at the Adult Psychiatric and Forensic Division.
Incumbent will do KRONOS for Nursing staff and approve overtime on KRONOS weekly.
Incumbent will assure KRONOS forms are being submitted for overtime and day off requests.
Incumbent will coordinate out of town appointments and discharges. Will also keep a log of daily appointments for APD and FTU.
Incumbent will transport patient¿s/client¿s/ residents to appointments as needed.

Ideal Candidate

Ideal candidate will have:
Experience creating daily schedules at NMBHI following policy and procedure as well as AFSCME rules;
Experience creating and doing monthly schedules at NMBHI following policy and procedure as well as AFSCME rules;
Experience with KRONOS;
Experience coordinating out of town appointments and discharges;
Experience working as a Direct Care Staff.

Minimum Qualification

High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties of the classification.

Employment is conditional pending the results of criminal records background checks. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Successful completion of the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Working Conditions

This position will perform work in a hospital and office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Exposure to mentally and behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable and sometimes violent behaviors in volatile situations requiring crisis intervention may be required. Some bending, reaching, pushing, and/or pulling a maximum force of 20-50 pounds and co-lifting and/or transferring patients with an average weight of one-hundred fifty (150) pounds may be required. Potential exposure to infectious diseases. Required to work weekends, holidays, overtime, shift work and callback hours as needed. Effective 1/1/2015, the New Mexico Behavioral Health Institute became a 100% Tobacco Free/E-Cigarette Free Campus. As such, no tobacco, tobacco products or Cigarette products are permitted on any part of the campus. Unit is Nursing Office or any unit within APD and FTU as needed.
Shift 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
