Second Shift (2:45 p.m. - 11:15 p.m.) and Third Shift (11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.) positions are available . 12-hour or 14-hour positions may also be available. All positions include every other weekend off.

The start date for the training for these positions is Oct 21 st , 2024.

Position Summary

These positions provide active treatment, promotes independence and choice, and implements the treatment programs per individual program plans in accordance with Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID) regulations.

These positions provide assistance in all areas of each resident's life such as hygiene, meals, recreational and/or vocational activities as well as support to achieve goals and independence and complies with ICF/IID regulations. The RCT-Adv ITP provides support for individuals with mental health and behavioral disorders as well as medical conditions.

Salary Information

Starting pay is between $26.42 and $29.73 per hour based on state seniority. Additional increases are based on years of service in the chart below. Positions are classified as a Resident Care Technician- Advanced.

  • An $.80 /hour night differential and an $.80 /hour weekend differential applies to worked shifts.
  • A $2,000 sign-on bonus applies to those with no prior state service in the last five years; who stay with SWC in the position until completing probation. Bonus will be split, $1000 upon hire and $1000 after completing probation.
  • A 12-month probationary period is required.
  • The pay schedule and range is 06/12.

Job Details

  • All applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.
  • All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by SWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.
  • The physical requirements include but are not limited to lifting up to 55 lbs, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and balancing. Applicants are required to pass a physical evaluation to assess these requirements.
  • DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
  • All appointees must obtain a valid Wisconsin CNA certification within the first 120 days of employment. Employer-paid training will be provided.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be willing to attend the required training full-time, Monday-Friday during the first 6 weeks of employment (only 1 week if a current WI CNA).
  • Must be willing and available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers, supervisors, patients/residents, etc.
In addition to the minimum requirements, well-qualified applicants will have:
  • Experience providing direct support services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health or behavioral disorders .
  • Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience following individualized plans of care for patients or residents.
